Russian Railways and Samsung Electronics agree on development of container transportation

The president of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov and the President of Samsung Electronics Pak San Jin signed a memorandum of understanding in Moscow 17 October 2016.

The document was signed within the framework of the 30th meeting of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council.

The parties have agreed on long-term cooperation and the development of container transportation of Samsung products to Vorsino station in Russia’s Kaluga Oblast and of transit services across the territory of Russia to Samsung factories located in Eastern Europe.

The memorandum sets out the general principles of cooperation between Russian Railways and Samsung Electronics and establishes the basis for the implementation of these areas of cooperation with the involvement of companies belong to the RZD Holding on the basis of individual commercial contracts.

The two companies have also expressed their willingness to cooperate in other areas of mutual interest.
