On June 12, 2008, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Seoul hosted the Reception on the occasion of the Day Of Russia. More than five hundred guests, including the Minister of Knowledge Economy H.E. Mr. Lee Youn-ho, National Assemblymen, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of National Defence and other government institutions, Chief Executives of the major Korean enterprises like Hyundai, LG, Korean Air, Samsung , Daewoo, etc., heads of the Diplomatic missions in Seoul, Military Attaches and others, have joined the Russians in the celebration of the National Day of the Russian Federation.

During the event the President of the Korean Red Cross Society Dr. Lee Se-ung presented the Grand order of "Taeguk" to H.E.Mr. Gleb A. Ivashentsov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the REpublic of Korea, as a token of recognition of the latter's efforts in promoting the development of humanitarian ties between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea.
